I think it might be possible its Nick, because I could see them fooling around, and ending up writing a country song, and they were working in the studio together a few months ago, and Nick is super busy with his movie, and the Jonas brothers album release, and all of that, plus, Demi has said before that they love writing together, and that they used to just write together in their free time because they just love it so much, and I cant think of a better person than Nick for her to do a side project with. She even said “There’s nobody like him in my life that I felt connected to through music. We work really great together.” So yeah, I just really think it could be him shes talking about.

If Nick really is singing back up for Demi in Without the Love, wouldn't that be awkward for Joe since the song sounds like it's about him? The lyrics about having a ring could be about his purity ring. Also Demi talks about Dimaggio in the song who was a baseball player who's first name is Joe and was involved with a lot of women. They also had to sing love songs for camp rock.
